Did You Know? Pension Credit Reviews Are Underway
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has begun contacting some Pension Credit claimants as part of routine case reviews to ensure people are receiving the correct amount of support.
If you are selected for a review, there is no need to panic. Being chosen does not mean you have done anything wrong, and it does not necessarily indicate that there is a problem with your claim. These reviews are simply designed to make sure information is accurate and up to date.
What Information Might Be Requested?
As part of the review process, you may be asked to provide:
Recent bank statements to confirm savings and income
Details of any pensions, earnings, or other benefits you receive
Information about housing costs, who lives in your household, or any periods spent abroad
Details of any changes to your financial circumstances since you first made your claim
Once the review has been completed, the DWP will explain the outcome and let you know if any changes need to be made.
Accuracy, Not Accusation
The DWP has emphasised that these reviews are focused on ensuring claims are accurate, not on accusing people of wrongdoing. If you receive a review request, it is important to respond promptly and keep copies of any documents you submit.

Don't Forget the Benefits of Pension Credit
Pension Credit is often described as a "passport benefit" because it can open the door to additional financial support. Depending on your circumstances, it may help you access benefits such as Housing Benefit, support with mortgage interest, and a free TV licence for eligible households.
If you think you or someone you know may be entitled to Pension Credit, it is worth seeking advice and checking eligibility. Even a small Pension Credit award can unlock valuable extra support.
Evergreen Advocacy is available to provide information, guidance and support to help older people access the benefits they are entitled to. 💚
