About Evergreen

A charity dedicated to promoting healthy ageing through advocacy, friendship and practical support

Who We are

The Evergreen Care Trust is an independent, not‑for‑profit Faith organisation that has been serving the heart of Stamford since 2005. We work closely with local charitable groups, churches, schools and colleges, and Health and Social Care providers to offers a range of non CQC regulated home‑care services for older people, their families, and carers. Evergreen currently operates in Stamford, Bourne, the Deepings and surrounding villages.

Evergreen has grown over the years but remains committed to meeting the needs of our local community by offering services that are relevant and meaningful. A key part of our mission is addressing loneliness and social isolation and the impact these have on wellbeing and health. We are privileged to support people to live flourishing lives in their own homes and stay connected to their community and the activities they value.

Where it all began

Evergreen was founded in May 2005 by Louise Marsh and a team of volunteers from local churches. Louise, a Registered Nurse specialising in the care of older people, worked in Stamford’s Adult Social Care, Older Person's Team from 2002. During this time, she identified many unmet needs that neither Health nor Social Care were addressing. With her manager’s permission, she gathered volunteers to offer small but meaningful interventions — transport to appointments, minor DIY, friendship support, and help after hospital discharge for those without family support.

growing the vision

After three years, Louise felt called to leave Social Services and formally establish Evergreen. The focus was on strengthening volunteer support and launching a paid‑for service known as Home Support, offering domestic help, laundry, and shopping — all identified as real community needs. With no initial funding, Louise and around 40 volunteers stepped out in faith to build a service centred on identifying needs and finding effective solutions. Evergreen became a registered charity in 2007 and an Incorporated Community Organisation (ICO) in 2014.

Our Commitment today

We recognise how much the Health and Social Care landscape has changed. Many individuals now face the challenge of navigating an increasingly complex system. Evergreen is here to support you and your loved ones through this process. Our consideration is what matters to you, and your family, if you have one. We help you navigate and understand the care sector and how to access the right care and support services for you. Through our care navigation service, we will walk you through care options that Evergreen may be able to provide or signpost you to our statutory and other care provider partnerships. Evergreen is a not-for-profit provider and remains responsive to the evolving needs and expectations of older neighbours and the wider Health & Social Care sector.
