Prayer Lead
Why Volunteer with Evergreen?
What is a prayer lead?
Since Evergreen’s beginnings in May 2005, prayer has been at the heart of the charity’s ministry. We have long valued the faithful prayers of local believers who lift up our work supporting older adults with compassion and dignity. Our prayer network now includes members across the British Isles and overseas, all receiving a weekly Monday email update to guide their prayers for Evergreen, our volunteers, and the people we serve. We are seeking someone with a heart for prayer and a deep care for older adults to lead this network, helping us continue this vital ministry of thanksgiving and intercession.

role responsibilities
The Prayer Network Lead will coordinate and nurture the prayer community, preparing or overseeing weekly updates and giving direction to the ministry. They will create a quarterly rota for those who contribute to the prayer updates and organise occasional prayer breakfasts for those able to gather in person. The role calls for someone spiritually grounded, organised, and able to encourage others in prayer, ensuring the network remains supported, connected and purposeful.

hours & training
This is a meaningful volunteer role that can be carried out in just a few hours each month, with flexibility around when tasks are completed. Full support is provided, including a handover from the current team and ongoing guidance from Evergreen’s leadership. As with all Evergreen roles, safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check are required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those we serve. We warmly welcome expressions of interest from anyone in the region who feels called to help carry this ministry forward.
At The Evergreen Care Trust we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who help deliver services across the local community so that older members of our community are supported and cared for. Not only is volunteering a great way to help others, it's also a way of meeting new people, developing new skills and being a part of a warm and supportive community. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we'd love to hear from you!
