Living Aids

Why Volunteer with Evergreen?

What are Living aids?

Each year, our charity receives a small number of donated living aids — from walking sticks and zimmer frames to crutches and other helpful equipment. We pass these items on to older members of our community who may be facing financial barriers that make it difficult to purchase the aids they need.

To collect a living aid, we simply ask for a suggested donation for each item, helping us continue supporting others in the future.

At The Evergreen Care Trust we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who help deliver services across the local community so that older members of our community are supported and cared for. Not only is volunteering a great way to help others, it's also a way of meeting new people, developing new skills and being a part of a warm and supportive community. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we'd love to hear from you!

How to collect items?

If you’re in need of any living aids, please get in touch with our reception team. We’ll take a moment to understand your situation, make a simple assessment of your needs and help you choose the most suitable items to support your mobility and independence.

Our aim is to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. We’ll talk you through what equipment is available, how each item can help, and ensure you feel confident using it. If you’re unsure what you need, we’re always happy to guide you.

Our office is open on weekdays, and if you’re unable to collect the equipment yourself, we can arrange for one of our trusted volunteers to deliver the living aid directly to your home. We want to make sure you receive the support you need without any added stress or barriers.
