What is clean & declutter?
The Clean Team exists to restore dignity, order, and cleanliness to a member’s home when things have become overwhelming. A home can deteriorate for many reasons — from clutter and accumulated goods to a loss of confidence or ability in day‑to‑day housekeeping. Our aim is to provide a fresh start, creating a safe and comfortable environment where the member can feel at ease again. All clean team activities are done with member consent, nothing is removed from the property without permission.
At The Evergreen Care Trust we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who help deliver services across the local community so that older members of our community are supported and cared for. Not only is volunteering a great way to help others, it's also a way of meeting new people, developing new skills and being a part of a warm and supportive community. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we'd love to hear from you!

The clean team
Our clean & declutter volunteers bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of what it means to walk alongside someone during difficult times. Each volunteer is trained, DBS‑checked, and committed to offering empathy, reassurance and steady support. All Clean Team work is carried out with the full permission and involvement of the member. No items are removed without their consent, and every decision is made collaboratively. With this agreement, the team delivers a one‑off deep clean and property blitz, transforming the space into a clean, orderly, and manageable home. It is a challenging but deeply rewarding volunteer role, centred on respect, compassion, and partnership.
how we can help
A deep clean often gives members the boost they need to regain control of their home and rebuild pride in their personal space. To ensure long‑term support, this volunteer service is offered on the understanding that the member will receive at least six months of Home Support maintenance — a paid service provided by Evergreen — helping them sustain the progress made and continue living confidently and independently.
All activity undertaken is in full confidence and without judgement.
