Why Volunteer with Evergreen?
What is aDVOCACY?
Advocacy is the act of supporting, speaking up for, or defending a person, group or cause to ensure their rights are respected and voices are heard.
Our Advocacy Team is dedicated to empowering older people by offering calm, compassionate support through life’s essential processes. We help with benefit guidance, bill management, and home paperwork — ensuring relevant persons feels informed, confident and voices heard.
At The Evergreen Care Trust we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who help deliver services across the local community so that older members of our community are supported and cared for. Not only is volunteering a great way to help others, it's also a way of meeting new people, developing new skills and being a part of a warm and supportive community. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we'd love to hear from you!

The aDVOCACY team
Our advocacy volunteers are trained, DBS‑checked, and come from a wide range of backgrounds. They bring valuable knowledge, experience, and practical skills — but most importantly, they offer a compassionate, steady hand to support those who need someone in their corner.
When we identify a need that falls outside our remit, we will always discuss this with you and, wherever possible, help you connect with organisations better placed to assist. This may include the Department for Work and Pensions, Citizens Advice, local authorities, or other specialist charities.
