Home Support Worker

About Evergreen

Based in Lincolnshire, the Evergreen Care Trust is a faith-based charity founded in 2005. Evergreen, through a wonderful team of staff and volunteers offers a wide range of both free volunteer-led and paid for services, designed to meet the identified needs of local people.

The demand for our wide range of life enhancing services, means that we are always looking to recruit people who share our values. We are committed to promoting healthy ageing.


Working within the Bourne and/or Stamford and surrounding areas, with monthly attendance in Stamford for training/meetings.


The Role

Home Support Workers provide high quality domestic assistance to promote independence and provide companionship to older and vulnerable individuals.


Duties vary and can include working in a person-centred way to provide companionship, food preparation, domestic cleaning, pop in visits, laundry and/or shopping visits.


You will be work closely with service users and their families.

You will need to demonstrate, professionalism, empathy, and commitment.

Home Support Workers operate within Health and Social Care legislation guidelines.


This role does not undertake personal care.


Pay:

£12.71 per hour from 1 April 2026


Working Hours

These are variable between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday with no bank holiday or weekend working required (except initial induction morning).

Working hours depend on the number of member visits you have (subject to changes). We aim to meet your availability, but hours cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of changes in service. Hours will be discussed at interview.


What you'll need

  • Previous experience in the support of older or vulnerable people in their own homes.
  • Reliability.
  • Empathy and a caring nature.
  • Diligence in the work you do.
  • Good communication (verbal and written).
  • Care certificate/L2 on Health and Social Care (an advantage).
  • UK  driving licence and roadworthy vehicle covered for business use.
  • Relevant/valid DBS clearance (for adult workforce) - if you do not hold this already, we will apply for this, at your expense.
